The same taste in Çanakkale, from 1980 to today

The story of Doyum 1980 begins with Nihat Parlak, born in 1952 in the İspir district of Erzurum, who came to Çanakkale in 1965. A baker by trade, he carried the craft and the experience of those years into his own business in 1980.

  6. Today

    The second generation

A family business in which the second generation now takes an active part. From döner to pide, from lahmacun to the kebabs, we serve with the same care.

A baker’s fire

Nihat Parlak was born in 1952 in the İspir district of Erzurum and came to Çanakkale in 1965. He was a baker by trade; that is where he learned the language of dough, of the oven and of fire.

In 1980 he carried that craft into his own business. It explains why pide and lahmacun matter so much in this house: there was a baker at the start of it.

1980: Doyum Pide ve Kebap Salonu

Opened in 1980 in partnership with relatives under the name Doyum Pide ve Kebap Salonu, the restaurant soon became one of the best-loved pide and kebab houses in Çanakkale.

When the partnerships came to an end over the years, the business carried on under its founder, Nihat Parlak.

From its first day Doyum has never compromised on taste, on the quality of its ingredients or on its service, and today it carries the pride of being one of the oldest pide and kebab houses still working in Çanakkale.

From Doyum to Doyum 1980 N. Parlak

With the full renovation carried out in Ocak 2024, the restaurant took on a more modern and contemporary look. With that change, to reflect nearly half a century of history more strongly, the name was renewed as “Doyum 1980 N. Parlak”.

The look has changed; the thinking in the kitchen has not: good ingredients, correct cooking, strong craft, and the standard of taste we have kept for years.

Today: the second generation

Doyum 1980 continues as a family business in which the second generation takes an active part. With a menu that runs from döner to pide, from lahmacun to the kebabs, we have been welcoming our guests in Çanakkale with the same care since 1980.

Kemalpaşa Mahallesi, Cumhuriyet Bulvarı No: 7/A, Merkez / Çanakkale. The dining room serves 10:00 – 23:00; for delivery and takeaway the phone is fastest.
